Nowadays, browser-based and mobile-based apps have a proven track record of helping road warriors optimize their company’s air, car and hotel spend, while at the same time, ensuring that they utilize approved booking channels. However, incidental expenses that aren’t necessarily bookable online can add up. For example, car parking fees.
However, thanks to the folks at Parkopedia, business travelers can now navigate their way to the cheapest and most convenient parking spots via their smartphone. Parkopedia (aka parking encyclopedia) allows you to search for free/paid parking lots based on your current location. Combine that with listing opening times, fees, real-time space availability and guided directions… and you’re set.
Parkopedia probably won’t guide travelers to their company-approved parking lots (if those even exist), but it will most likely lead them to the cheapest and most convenient spots. If you know of any other GPS-based apps that help travelers save on incidental expenses, please post your comments below.
